Eligibility for Admission to Regular courses

• M.P.Ed (Master of Physical Education)
• Applicants should have either BPED, or B.M.S or B.P.Es/B.P.E degree or its equivalent degree recognized by the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports university
• The academic qualification should have i ) B.P.Ed. degree (10+2+3+1) or ii) BPE/B.P.Ed. (10+2+3)
• Candidates should have completed 21years but should be below 30 years as on 1st July of the concerned years.
• Age limit will be relaxed for in-service and experienced candidates with outstanding achievements in games and sports
• Experienced Physical Education Teachers will be preferred if they are found suitable.
• The candidates should have a required standard in at least one major game or sports.
• Candidates with achievement in sports and games and professional Training will be preferred.
• The candidates will be tested in one game /sports from the following events to offer specialisation in the course of study: 1) Basket Ball 2) Cricket 3) Foot Ball 4) Hockey 5) Track and field 6) Volley Ball
• Since Track and Field is not offered as Specialisation in the college candidates tested in track and field should opt any other above events except specialisation
• The admission is subject to the eligibility rules of the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University and Tamil Nadu Government


• B.P.Ed.(Bachelor of Physical Education)
• Academic Qualification and Age 
• Applicants who have passed BA, BSc, B.Com, B.P.E.S, B.P.E or any other equivalent degree recognized by the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University are eligible.
• Students who have obtained degree from Open University system are not eligible
• Graduates form other universities are eligible for admission only if their degrees are accepted by the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University.
• Candidates who have obtained their degree by private study, should get their degree approval from the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University prior to the submission of application to the college.
• Academic degree should have 10+2+3 pattern with minimum of 45% of marks in part III.
• Persons patternship basic degree in Physical Education will be awarded 5 marks as bonus.
• The candidates should have completed 21 years but bellow 30 years as on 1st July of the concerned year.
• The age limit will be relaxed for in-service and experienced candidates with outstanding achievements in games and sports.
• Experienced Physical Education Teachers will be preferred if they are found suitable.
• Selection Test
  • College representation in any one of the games and sports included in the All India Inter university competition is a must to appear for the selection Trials.
  • The candidate will be tested in any one of the Inter university events as chosen by him.
  • They must undergo testing in a)100mts b)shot put c)long jump


• B.M.S.(Bachelor of Mobility Science)
• Any degree recognised  by the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University is eligible.
• B.P.Ed., admission procedures will be followed.
• They must have aptitude to serve the disabled.
• Sponsored candidates will be preferred.
• Students who have obtained from Open University system are Not Eligible (Tamil Nadu Govt. Go ms 156.Nov.2001)


• B.P.E.(Bachelor of Physical Education)
• Applicants should have passed the +2 Exam of Govt of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examinations recognised by the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University.
• The upper age limit for admission will be 21 years (Twenty one) as on 1st July of the concerned year.
• Age limit may be relaxed for the deserving candidates.
• School representation in any game or sports is a must for the applicant.
• The selection procedure followed for the B.P.Ed Degree will be applicable for B.P.E Degree candidates also.


• D.P.Ed (Diploma in Physical Education)
• Candidates with at least 45% marks in the senior secondary examination (+2) or its equivalent, are eligible for admission. (i.e. the qualification now adopted for secondary grade TTC)
• For those who have participated in state or National level sports events, the minimum percentage of marks in the senior secondary examination (+2) should be at least 40 marks.
• Single window system of admission is now followed as per the guidelines of Govt of Tamil Nadu.
• The age limit is as now being adopted in secondary grade Teacher Training Course.

  OC / BC / MBC	17-25 years
  SC / DT / PH	17-30 years
  Widow / orphan / Deserted women	17-40 years

• Selection procedures for D.P.Ed admissions will be followed as per the government guidelines.


• PGDTR (Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation)
• Eligible qualification for joining this course is prescribed as follows. B.P.T / B.R.Ed / B.Sc / B.P.Es / B.P.E / B.M.S / B.P.Ed / or its equivalent.
• Candidates should have completed 21 years and should be bellow 30 years of age as on 1st July of concerned year.
• The age limit will be relaxed for in-service and experienced candidates.

Rules and Regulations

• The candidates from other universities should obtain eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University before seeking admission to any of the degree courses offered by the college.
• Any other qualification claimed by a candidate as equivalent to the above will be considered only on condition that he/she gets the clearance certificate from the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University.
• The college reserves the right to discontinue the candidates at any time whose qualifications do not satisfy the requirement of above said university/the Director of Government Examination.
• The college will not be held responsible for any course question damage incurred to the candidate in this issue.
• The candidates with doubtful qualifications will not be admitted.
• The medium of instruction for all courses is English.
• Applicants should submit a medical fitness certificate issued by a Government Doctor not below the rank of a civil surgeon, along with the application. Format of medical certificate is given in the prospectus.

Eligibility for Admission for Courses Offered in the Evening College

1. M.Sc. Degree (Fitness, Exercise, Rehabilitation and Nutritional care                                                    (a) Applicants who have passed any one of the following degree are eligible
   1.  B.P.T 2. B,Sc. (Nutritional and Dietetics) 3. B.Sc. (Physical Education ) 4. B.P.Es. 5. B.Sc. (Nursing) 6. Any other B.Sc., 7. Any other degree equivalent as approved by the Tmailnadu Physical Education and Sports University. 
2. P.G. Diploma in sports Coaching-Tennis,Swimming, Cricket

   Any graduate degree or recognised degree approved as equivalent by the Tmailnadu Physical Education and Sports University.  .

   Rules and Regulations

   a) Age: 1) Candidates should have completed 20 years and should be below 40 years of age as on first September of concerned year. 2) The age limit will be relaxed for in-service and experienced candidates. 3) Experienced candidates will be preferred if found suitable.

   b) Candidates from other universities should obtain eligibility certificate from the Tmailnadu Physical Education and Sports University before seeking admission to any of the degree courses offered by the college.

   c) Any other qualification claimed by a candidate as equivalent to the above will be considered on condition that he/she gets the clearance from the Tmailnadu Physical Education and Sports University.  

   d) The college reserves the right to dis-continue the candidate at any time whose qualifications do not satisfy the requirement of the Tmailnadu Physical Education and Sports University. 

   e) The College will not be held responsible for any consequential damage incurred to the candidate in this matter.

   f) Candidates with doubtful qualification will not be admitted.

   g) Regulation as laid down by the Tmailnadu Physical Education and Sports University will be followed for conducting evening college courses.

   h) The medium of instruction for all courses will be in English.

   i) Classes both theory and practicals will be conducted from 3pm to 7pm on all working days.

   j) Admission of candidates to the college will be finalized with subject to the passing of the medical examination conducted by our college Medical Doctor soon after the announcement of selection list.

Course fees 1) M,Sc. - Fitness, Exercise, Rehabilitation and Nutritional Care: Rs 15000/- per year. Rs 7500/- per semester. 2) P.G., Diploma in Sports Coaching tennis. Rs - 8000/-  (subject to the revision and approval of D E Chennai)
