Examination

Autonomy has paved the way for YMCA College of Physical Education to have its own office of controller of examination to conduct internal and external examinations for the students in the various courses and publish results ahead of other professional colleges and departments in the state. The college, affiliated to Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University and recognized by National Council of Teacher Education and government of Tamil Nadu, conducts examinations on semester system as per the educational norms.

The examination system in the college is well-designed with continuous assessment tests every month on the prescribed dates as noted in the college calendar, periodical assignments on the subject papers, presemester (model) examinations and semester examinations. A well-planned internal examinations in practicals on all the physical activities instructed as morning and evening activities are conducted and graded.

The marks thus obtained in the internal examinations are displayed in the college notice board for the benefit of students to understand, assess and improve their own performance. Periodical meetings by the college academic team with experts in board of studies suggest many innovative administrative reforms in the examination system.  

  • Only those students who have obtained a minimum of 90% attendance of the total number of working days for each semester is permitted to write the examination.
  • Students having attendance of less than 50% should redo the semester.
Formative Evaluation (Internal continous assessment) and Summative Evaluation (End Semester Evaluation) are in the ratio of 25:75 for theory courses. Both formative and summative assessments are required for a student to complete a course.
