The YMCA College of Physical Education

Well planned play fields, which are considered as unique ones in this region are being maintained by the college.  Spacious Indoor Gymnasium, Research Practice Laboratory, Buck Oppen Air theatre, Stanley-Boxing Ring, CC Abraham Pavilion, Project Complex, Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy Center and Swimming Pool are to mention a few.

There are two blocks of men’s hostel and seven dormitories to accommodate more than 300 students and one block of women’s hostel (three floors) to accommodate more than 150 students.  The college added classroom facilities recently and has a Conference room to conduct seminars.

An MoU has been entered into between YMCA College of Physical Education and Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu to lay an Astro-Turf hockey field at the YMCA College and the work has since been completed. This will boost sports in the state and make Chennai the Sports capital of India. This Astro-turf hockey surface will be set up at our college will enable the college and sports school boys to get their training which is a minimum requisite to participate in International Competitions.

Thus the college provides all necessary facilities to the students for their learning and progress. This enables 99% of the students to pass their final examinations.  Except a few students who could not continue their studies after joining the courses, all the students appearing for the final examinations have passed through and the drop out is more or less nil.
